Mental Focus Big Questions of Life conversation starter cards

The big questions of life – conversation starter cards

75 thought-provoking questions for self-discovery and truly deep conversations

Every day, life asks us questions through decisions, encounters, losses and joys. Yet we rarely stop to actually answer them.

The Big Questions of Life card deck invites you to stop. The cards touch on topics such as identity, our relationships, our past, our desires, our decisions, the passing of time and what living a full life means to us. There are no right or wrong answers: every question can be the starting point for a new perspective, an insight or an honest conversation.

Use it however works for you!

Alone

Draw a card in the morning or evening, dwell on the question, and write your answer in a journal. You can also take the question with you and let it keep working in you throughout the day.

As a pair

Take turns drawing, and listen to each other with curiosity, without judgment or unsolicited advice. The questions can show you new sides of your partner, friend or family member.

In a group

Put the deck in the middle, then going around the circle, everyone draws a question. Everyone shares as much of their answer as they want – and passing is always allowed.

The card deck is ideal for get-togethers with friends, relationship conversations, family evenings, self-discovery work or a quiet moment for yourself.

The goal isn't to get through as many cards as possible. Sometimes a single good question is enough to bring you closer to yourself – and to each other.
